On Friday August 17th, Cessnock City Library brought Stephen Michael King (illustrator / author) to our school.
Stephen started his visit by adding to and signing his book on our library mural. He was thrilled to see his book on our library and happily ‘graffitied’ it.
He then spoke to students from Millfield PS, Kearsley PS and St Phillips CC for about an hour before speaking to all of our students for an hour.
Stephen answered all manner of questions and drew for us as well. Then children of CWPS have never been so silent. Over 400 students in the hall and not one sound could be heard while Stephen drew the giraffe from his book “My Dad is a Giraffe”. It was fantastic to list to him and watch him draw and the children enjoyed the illustrating tips he gave them along the way.
